WRIT ON WATER

Mixed-media sculptures and works on paper evoking the instability of memory and identity through layers of color, images and fragments of documents.

Precious “papers” - documents of passage (visas, ID cards) but also the remains of a bible in the border desert, love letters in a pocket, a crumpled photograph in a wallet – are integral to our identity and to our history.

They are imagined here in states of transition: underwater, floating, disintegrating, yet persisting in a new form.
